You can attach pictures, documents, and videos to your posts. Click the ATTACHMENT icon next to the SAY IT button and select your attachments BEFORE you save your post.

When you create a conversation, you can make it semi-private. This means it won't show up in the conversation lists, and for anyone to find it you'll have to hand out the conversation URL to people. This isn't quite the same thing as making a "Private" conversation...since it's not protected in anyway and anyone with the right URL can see it. But it keeps it out of the conversation lists and search results. To make a completely private conversation you have to be a Premium snapTalker and select that option when you create the conversation. Then...only those you APPROVE will be able to even see it.

The snapTalker Widget (available at the bottom of the page as "Widget"), lets you place an automatically updated list of snapTalker conversations into your blogs, webpages, and social networking pages. You can choose which conversations should appear in the widget.

If a topic is BOLD ORANGE in a slightly larger font size...that means someone posted less than 5 minutes ago. So if you are looking for ACTIVE conversations...watch for those.

Conversations in the conversation list are colorized depending on how recent someone has contributed to that conversation. Red means someone posted less than 5 minutes ago. Orange means within the last hour. Green less than 12 hours ago. Black less than 36 hours ago. And gray means someone hasn't posted for at least 36 hours (a day and a half). This makes it easy to spot active conversations

Booting Participants : Sort of a self policing process for controlling unruly participants. We figure if more than 5 people want to evict someone from a conversation, they deserve to be evicted. If someone is acting unpleasant, obscene, or is spamming...click the BOOT icon and cast your vote. Once that person has 5 boots, all their posts are removed and they can't post anymore. So be nice. Or they'll BOOT you. (you can only vote to boot someone once. In other words, you can't click the boot 5 times and boot someone).

The conversations auto refresh every 10 seconds, so you don't have to keep clicking the REFRESH PAGE button. Only click that button if the refresh stops refreshing.

Use the "Follow" button to place your favorite conversations on the Following Conversations menu. This makes it easy to keep track of the conversations that you want to keep up with. Click UNFOLLOW to remove one from the list.

If you want to put an image or a video into a post, enter the full URL for it. The video or image won't appear, but people can click the link to see it.

You can't put HTML into posts. Too many people mess up the page with nonsense when you allow HTML. All HTML tags are converted to <b> non HTML text. This does make it convenient for those who want to share code and talk about it.

Click one of the topic on the right side of the page to view the conversation.
To participate, sign up for a free snapTalker account, and start talking.
To create your own conversation...click START A NEW CONVERSATION.
Invite your friends to join your conversation by clicking TELL SOMEONE ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION.
You can delete your own posts.
If you own the conversation, you can delete posts made by others.
If someone is behaving badly in a conversation, click the BOOT. Once a person has been booted by 5 people, their posts are removed and they can't participate in that conversation anymore. Ain't democracy grand?
If you want to make your own custom snapTalker page with your own graphics, or you want to hold private conversations, upgrade your membership and become a Premium snapTalker. It's cheap at $29.95 a year.
